Your holiday in Cavi di Lavagna is not just sea!
The land environment of Tigullio is full of wonders. One must travel on Mount Portofino, from its stony mass pudding -stones on its slopes to the limestone at the highest elevation. This mountain is a theatre of wonders such as the panorama that it offers as well as for the richness of the vegetation that includes orchids, narcissus, euphorbia trees, alpine pines and chestnut. The inland valleys are particular as distinguished by the uniqueness of the Fontanabuona Valley, carved by the Entella River. One of the wonders of Liguria is in the Valley of Aveto, inland from Chiavari: the Agoraie
Reserve, on the northern slope of Mount Aiona. This area, which is of glacial origins, is protected. The landscape is alpine. Pines and fir trees are mirrored in the icy water of Lakes Giacopiane and Lame. The region that includes Mount Maggiorasca, Mount Aiona and Mount Prato Mollo is of notable botanical interest.
The valley of Aveto is the way into mountains of Tigullio; the path from the sea that leads to the snow.
The mountains protect the area of Lavagna from the cold winters.
The Promontory of Portofino is the only example of such vast proportions in the whole of the Ligurian Arc. It divides the Gulf of Paradise from the Gulf of Tigullio stretching out toward the sea and creating a very unusual natural environment.
